Jealousy is often referred to as the "green-eyed monster." It is a complex emotion that we all experience at different points in our lives. But how intense is it? If jealousy had a color, would it be a deep emerald green, symbolizing strong envy, or a lighter shade for subtler and understated feelings? The intensity of jealousy varies based on how we experience and process this often-uncomfortable emotion.
Fear is an emotion most of us wrestle with, often without recognizing it by name. As a coach, I see this repeatedly with executive clients. When I ask, "What’s on your mind today?" they often describe external events that stir up strong emotions. However, beneath the surface, it's fear - an elusive and deceiving emotion. Defined by some as False Evidence Appearing Real, fear cleverly hides behind stories of blame and external causes. And so, many unknowingly fall victim to fear - the biggest liar.
Politics has a way of stirring up intense emotions that can feel overwhelming. Anger, frustration, disappointment, and fear are common reactions that I frequently encounter with my clients. These emotions don’t just reside in our minds; they manifest in our bodies, creating a surge of energy that often demands release. This release can lead to heated conversations, potentially damaging friendships, straining family ties, and even fracturing professional relationships. It’s as if many people meet the minimum height requirement to ride this political emotional rollercoaster, but they forget one crucial step: buckling up.
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I am not good enough. Why would anyone listen to me?” These self-doubts are more common than you might think. If we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, we must first be able to open up and hear our inner voice.
We look forward to working with you and are here to answer any questions you may have. Our focus is on empowering leaders through personalized coaching, helping you achieve growth and success.
